You can use this light tripod to place it anywhere you want, it adapts anywhere. You can place it on a bar, fence, upside down or on irregular terrain. It's light to carry and very versatile. The quick release is great and has a safety switch so it won't drop the camera. The tripod does feel a bit plastic. It could have some kind of rubber around the little balls so it could fit more firmly on metal bars.
